So much has happened around here the past few weeks. Below is the email I sent out to all my customers. The biggest news is our name change, and with the change is a new blog Our new Blog link is http://brickpaperscissors.blogspot.com/ please continue to follow us there, then I can continue to follow you too.
Thanks for understanding and hope to see you at our new blog!

EMAIL:
As some of you know we have a dream...our dream is to someday open an online scrapbooking/paper craft store and have a storefront right here in downtown Hobart. Last month we added new classes, more classes, new products, etc. This month we have more exciting news to get us one step closer to achieving our dream. The first big announcement is our name change. As much as we love "Paper Memories" we wanted a unique name that instilled pride for our hometown, and highlighted the creativity in our craft. Someday we will share with you the funny story about how we arrived at this name, but for now we will not keep you waiting and let you know our new name is........brick paper scissors

With the name change we have changed our Yahoo Group, email addresses, and are in the process of changing over our Blog and Facebook Group. So please bear with us if they may not be working properly while we are updating these sites.

Announcement #2...with the completion of our Scrap Studio we are going to have a Grand Opening Open House. The Open House is set for Saturday October 17th, 11:30am – 6:00pm. Stop in to see the Studio, new products, enjoy refreshments, door prizes, and a quick make-n-take. Bring a friend and receive a free gift!

Announcement #3...Another new class, and this one is for the kids!! It is called Kids Club and it will be Saturday mornings from 10:00am - 11:30am. Our first Kids Club is Saturday October 17th –right before the Open House. Everything is provided for the kids, but they are more than welcome to bring their favorite tools. The cost for each child is $12 and packages are available for extra savings: a 4-week session is $44, and if you sign up for an 8-week session, the cost is only $80 ($10 per class) and your child will receive a free 8x8 scrapbook, and you will receive a coupon for a complimentary adult class!

Since this is a new program and we want all the kids to attend, we are offering a half-off special ...yep that's right, only $6 for your first Kids Club class!!

Another Scrap Studio Update

WOW we got a lot accomplished today!!!
First we got the counter top in...

Next my ever so talented hubby created the coolest peg boards I have ever seen!!!
And he even said..."Yea I do think it will look nice if you paint the frames PINK!!!"
I think my "pink & brown" theme is growing on him.

I finished my curtains so I can hide all my rolly drawer carts under the counter, and started to hang up my ribbon....

Still lots more to do, but we ran out of hours today.
Hope to post more updates soon...Thanks for looking and remember Holiday Gift Class tomorrow...Tuesday Sept. 8th 6:30pm!!

Scrap Studio

We were busy little bees in the scrap studio today. Finished up the painting,

and got the carpet in.

It is starting to look like a real room now.

I pulled the tables in just to get the feel for the room and we brought in my big brown cabinet which is another one of my trash to treasures finds... it was white and I painted it brown but still need to add some pink cuteness to it when I add more things to the room. I found it at a yard sale for only $5!!!! Can you believe it ?? It will will be a great storage cabinet!!

Check back again...we are adding the trim, counter, and peg board wall tomorrow!! I will post photos as soon as I can. Thanks for looking :)

trash to treasure

I love turning trash to treasure...I am always on the lookout for things that can be turned into other things...and I save all kinds of stuff that I know someday I will create something fabulous with it!! Well here is my latest trash to treasure...
I am not sure where my kids got this from, but they had one of those round table with the three screw-in legs. You know the table I'm talking about... not pretty by itself, but looks kind of cute in the corner with a table cloth on it?? Well my girls used this one for tea party's until "somebody" thought they could stand on it and off broke the legs. I saved the round top which is about 20 inches round, and look what I created.... A big wall clock for my new Scrap Studio

The inside circle for the actual clock is 12". I cut the letters and numbers with the Cricut-cuttin' up cart. The flowers are cut out from Fancy Pants-crush paper.
I just love how it turned out, and can't wait to hang it in the Scrap Studio!!

My new Scrap Studio is under construction!! I am so excited and I can't wait until it is finished. We still have lots to do but happy it is finally getting started.
I will keep you posted on its progress. Grand Opening should be September-ish!

We torn out the old dry-wall, furnace, sink, and door.

We had some water damage from the big flood last year that needed to be fixed.

New door, water damage fixed, and the studs are up!!

Class

I had so much fun at class last night! Everyone was so creative, adding their own uniqueness to their project. Great job ladies!!!

We altered a CD tin into a cute Tic-Tac-Toe game. I posted photos of it a few days ago so scroll back if you want to see it up close.

A big hello and thanks for coming to Karen and Robin, so glad you were able to join us.

Congrats to Karen and Michelle, they were the door prize winners and won one of the Daisy Bucket Stamps that we used in class.

And a big congrats to Kellie and Kathy for participating in last weeks card challenge. You both created beautiful cards and I think Kellie was randomly picked the winner but graciously shared the prize with Kathy. Photos of their cards are on the Yahoo Group.

Next class we will create a LO and use a new "frameabilities" die from Spellbinders. Cute stuff...you won't want to miss it!
Can't make it to a class? You can still join in the fun and try this weeks RAK Challenge.

new items

I post these on the Yahoo Group but thought I would share them here if anyone is interested. I carry lots of different items in my home store too, so if there is something you may be looking for let me know and hopefully I have it in stock or I can find it for you.
Here is the new flier from Making Memories. I just love the tiny alpha's...
Remember you can click on the photo for a bigger view

tic tac toe

Some of the gals from class were asking how to
alter items so I decieded to create this cute
tic tac toe game to teach for our next class. I
designed the "tic tac toe" word with the Cricut Design Studio. The paper and the stamps used
for the X's and O's are from Daisy Bucket.

Wow it's been awhile...

Boy has life just gotten in the way of my blog posting lol. I have been busy with last days of schools, birthdays, summer, meetings, work, and I can't believe I am going to say the word...exercising! Yep I have been walking and even entered in a few 5k's. By no means the running part, just as a walker, which is good enough for me. As most of you know I quit smoking, almost 5 months ago now... and getting in better shape was one of my reasons for wanting to quit. My hubby even gave me a set of weights for my B-day to help me stay motivated and on track.
Class is tomorrow and I have some new products that I am excited to show off.
I will post some photos of projects I have created and the new products too. If you are interested in attending class or placing an order just let me know you can leave a comment here, or shoot me an email. papermemories123@verizon.net

We went a little green in our last class. We created this cute mini-album out of an empty toilet paper roll. The gals had a great time and are now saving their empty rolls at home to create more. We also learned how to properly apply Rub-ons, and two of my favorite "must-have" tools...the Edge Scrapper and Bone File.

Mother's Day Card

Here are the cards we created in class last week.
The first one is a cute Bookmark Card. As you can see in the second photo, the inside has a pull-off bookmark. I just love cards that "do" something.

Then the next one is the cute Flower Pot card. I loved using the Fiskars Squeeze Punches on this one.

And last but not least I showed everyone how to create this adorable Post-it Note w/Pen Holder.

All in all it was a great class. Next week for class we are Going Green!!! Sign up today

A Mother's Day Surprise

As most of you know I REFUSE to purchase ANYTHING by martha stewart. Even to type her name is making me ill. The past few months I have seen this cute little butterfly on so many different projects and just had to find out what it is from. After much Internet searching, I was so disappointed to find out it was one of HER punches :( So much for me getting to use that cute butterfly on my creations. The other day DH and I were at WM, I saw the punch and told my DH how much I wanted it until I found out it was one of HERS. He laughed because he knows I refuse to even look at HER stuff. Well...much to my surprise this morning I wake up to find the Butterfly Punch, and he says, "I know you really wanted this punch, and won't ever bring yourself to buy it, so I got it for you. Happy Mother's Day" How sweet! He also got the heart punch... which I will promptly return on Monday lol
Wishing everyone a wonderful Mother's Day!!!!
